Service

Through service may we be drawn closer to God. FUMCL explores diverse opportunities to grow spiritually through service; we help feed neighbors, bring Christ to prisoners, and build communities at home and around the world.

Missions

Missions provide service and outreach to our community and world.

Mission trips- Once or twice a year we sponsor people to travel to disaster areas both in the US and abroad to rebuild homes and schools and offer a friendly, consoling presence to those who are hurting.

Other Service Opportunities

On the fourth Monday of the month, we’re in charge of preparing and serving lunch to those in need at the First United Methodist Church in Roseville.

FUMCL proudly works with Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. (Kairos), a lay-led, interdenominational Christian ministry.

The “Because We Can” Faith Garden grows organic vegetables and donates harvested crops to Placer County families in need.

Over the past several years a group from FUMCL has traveled to various locations to work on the construction of new homes.

For times when someone just needs to be wrapped in God’s love and comforted in warmth, our Prayer Shawl Ministry knits and crochets shawls and lap robes.

Faithful Friends is a group of volunteers that visit detained immigrants at the Yuba County Jail.

At FUMCL, we support the Gathering Inn, and open our facilities on a regular basis to people in our community in need of a meal and place to spend the night.

Each summer the youth spend a week doing home construction and repairs on homes for Native American families on reservations in California, Nevada, Oregon and more states.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Senior L.I.F.E Center gathers on our campus for fellowship, sewing and quilting classes, art classes, exercise programs, and special speakers and more.

FUMCL operates a Food Closet and provides food and household essentials to Placer County families in need.

Spreading Christmas cheer, sharing God’s love, and distributing baskets of food and essentials to families in our community is an annual tradition at FUMC.

FUMCL is a sponsor for service projects in partnership with the “Rise Against Hunger” non-profit organization.
